Who here partakes in the fun that is overclocking?

I enjoy overclocking and benchmarking. Just wondering who else was into it or if anyone wants to learn about it?

its quite easy on most new motherboards, my new one can even do it live with the click of a button get about 0.7 ghz extra

yeah new features have made it a lot easier.

but then the fun really begins when you go into the BIOS.

I've been kinda wanting to do it for a while now, built a few PCs but didn't really get around to OCing them :/ During the summer if I have the money I'd like to build a water-cooled gaming rig and overclock the hell out of it ^^ None of this one-touch OC foolery!

I can't remember what hardware I was using for that exact run. I've used many CPUs and GPUs with liquid nitrogen.

One of my favorite scores is when I got an old celeron over 7Ghz. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1558121 The CPU was running at -196C for that run.

Not to toot my own horn but I've also been invited by Asus to the ASUS Overclocking Masters Event next weekend. Should be fun. I love getting to play with new kit.

You should set up a small workshop for the society to attend. If you worked out the costs of what we'd use you can charge an entry fee.

I might have a go an knocking one out after exams or over Easter. Pretty busy at the moment as I assume everyone is with so very many deadlines/tests in the last week.

yer no time at the moment also hard to sort out the activities for society but we are getting there!
